By placing an order or using this site, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, please don't order — but feel free to email us about what you'd want changed.
What we sell
Three SKUs, all wild-yeast sourdough starter:
- 5g dehydrated pouch — single-use, pantry-stable for 12 months.
- 3-pack dehydrated bundle — three pouches, identical formula.
- 30g live jar — already alive, ships fresh and ready to feed.
We may add or rotate products without notice. Anything we discontinue stays available to existing subscribers until their plan ends.
The Bubbling Guarantee
If your starter doesn't show clear bubbles by day 7 of your activation, send a photo of your jar through our contact form. We'll send a fresh starter at no cost, no return required.
- Eligible: original purchaser, within 30 days of receiving your order.
- What we need: a photo of your day-7 jar, your order number, and a one-line description of what you've done so far.
- What you get: a replacement of the same SKU, shipped within one business day.
We will not get tired of fulfilling this guarantee.
Subscriptions
If you sign up for a subscription, here's how it works:
- Charged the day each box ships. We'll email you a reminder 48 hours before.
- Pause for any length, anytime, from your account or by email.
- Cancel anytime — no fees, no questions, no required minimum number of orders.
- Change frequency (every 2, 4, or 8 weeks) anytime. The change applies to your next charge.
Shipping & returns
We ship within the US only, currently. Pouches ship within 2 business days. Live jars ship fresh, fed within 24 hours.
If your live jar arrives warm to the touch, email us a photo. We'll re-ship same day at no cost.
We don't accept returns on starters — the right move when something's wrong is the Bubbling Guarantee. For damaged-on-arrival packaging or wrong items, email us within 14 days.
Acceptable use
You may use the site, recipes, and tutorial freely for personal baking.
- Don't scrape, copy, or republish our recipes or tutorial content without permission.
- Don't try to break the site, the cart, or anyone else's account.
- Don't use our starter to start a competing dehydrated-starter business — but bake all the bread you want, sell loaves at your farmers' market, give it away. The starter is yours.
Liability
We make starters from flour, water, and wild yeast. They're as safe as the bread you bake. That said, the legalese:
TO THE EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU FOR ANY CLAIM RELATED TO YOUR PURCHASE IS LIMITED TO THE AMOUNT YOU PAID FOR THE PRODUCT IN QUESTION. WE PROVIDE THE SITE AND PRODUCTS "AS IS," WITHOUT WARRANTIES BEYOND THE BUBBLING GUARANTEE STATED ABOVE.
Nothing in these terms limits your statutory consumer rights.
Governing law
These terms are governed by California law. Any dispute will be resolved in San Francisco County, California, unless a consumer-protection law requires otherwise.
Changes to these terms
If we change anything material, we'll update the "last updated" date and email anyone with an active account. Continued use of the site after a change means you agree to the updated terms.
